1a) Set up a fund to help programmes that engage the elderly. This would allow more programmes to operate since it has more funding and so, the elderly would have more things to do.
1b) Make all forms of public transport disabled friendly. This would again encourage the elderly and the disabled to go out as they can move around on their own easily.
1c) Provide different housing with different leases. This would allow the elderly to have more options so that they can pay for a cheaper house which has a shorter lease.
1d) Collaborate with companies in the market to provide reverse mortgage. This would allow the elderly to get some money without having no place to stay in.
2) They want to make all areas surrounding HDB flats barrier free. This will allow the elderly to move easier on their own and so, they would go out and take part in activities more often. For example, the path from a block to a recreational centre or an MRT Station nearby must be easy to walk with no hindrance to the elderly.
3a) Have people go to houses where there are elderly people staying and ask them questions to see if they are struggling to pay for their expenses. If they are, some changes have to be made.
3b) Increase the amount of cash benefits for the elderly, for example, increasing the subsidy of MediSave, etc.
4a) I can go out to do volunteer work, such as helping out at activities that are targeted at the elderly.
4b) I can go out to places where the elderly stays at and find out if their lives can be improved. I can then channel this feedback back to the respective authorities that can make their lives better.
4c) I can donate to causes that benefit the elderly.
